Hi Y6, here’s some fabulous work from this week’s independent writing task. Well done JB and LD. Keep sending me your wonderful work. #Y6HomeLearning
Some more fabulous independent writing from Y6’s home learning. Well done to RW. #Y6HomeLearning
Hi Y6, I hope you’re all well and staying safe. I’ve got to say I’m a very happy teacher today because I’ve been sent some amazing work and I just had to share it. Keep focused and keep working hard, let’s share some more tomorrow. Thank you to RW and JB for your Science report and your independent research project for History. #Y6HomeLearning
Hi Y6, this is a great idea to be doing over your end of term break. The Getty museum in LA has challenged people to recreate a famous piece of art. I’ve attached some examples for you to see. This is brilliant! Go do your research, find your art and recreate it any way you like. Can’t wait to see these!
Good morning Y6! How about a bit of mindfulness art today? Get yourself some paper and a pencil, start anywhere on your paper and ‘take your pencil for a walk’ all around your paper for 20 seconds. Fill the spaces with colour and design. Here’s some examples. Love Mrs H.
Good morning Y6, hope you had a great weekend. I’ve just found this on Twitter. You’re able to download lots of free audible books,@audibleuk stories.audible.com which means you can listen to lots of stories and Goodnight Mr Tom is one of them! Let me know what you’ve chosen to listen to. Take care, Mrs Hughes.
Y6, it’s the last ‘Problem of the Day’ today and a little true or false question. Have a go at these with your family at home and get your grownups thinking! Post your answers and photos in comments, we’d love to see them. Mrs Hughes
Good morning lovely Y6 children Today’s mission (after your Joe Wicks workout off course) is to be kind to someone and do something nice. Oh and a big shout out to JB and KO for being Numbots amazing!! Cone on everyone else, beat them!!! Love Mrs Hughes
Hi Year 6, how is everyone? Who’s looking forward to the WW2 live lesson at 1:00? This is great for a starting point for your research project. Try and take some pics so we can see what you’ve found out. I can’t wait to see them. Also, how about this instead of our class read? A live reading of Wonder by RH Palacio starting today at 4pm. Check the link in twitter. See you soon, Mrs Hughes
Year Six - Ellie Simmonds
Welcome to Year 6
Year 6 is a notoriously busy year, this year working with Mrs Hughes and Mrs Moore, Senior Learning Support Officer.
We are dedicated to support and prepare pupils to work to the very best of their abilities in the statutory assessments (SATS) tests in May. In addition to class time, after the Christmas break, we will run an afterschool revision club which parents/carers are welcome to attend. However, being a member of Year 6 is also about much more than this…
There are opportunities and roles around school for our Year 6 pupils such as Prefects and Maths Ambassadors.
One of the highlights of Year 6 is our annual residential trip to Kingswood Colomendy in beautiful North Wales. It’s a wonderful opportunity to spend time with classmates in the great outdoors, taking part in some breath-taking adventurous and team-building activities. It is an unforgettable class bonding opportunity.
