Year 4 - Marcia Williams

Welcome to Y4!

Our class name for this academic year is Marcia Williams. She is a prize-winning author who is famous for creating books in comic-strip form. The children in Y4 have loved learning about her and her fascinating life. Her books ‘Children who Changed the World’ and ‘Three Cheers for Women’ have also taught the children about some very influential individuals and have been particularly inspiring!

In Year 4, we have a fun and engaging year ahead. Although the demands of the curriculum do increase, our goal is to ensure every child enjoys their learning while succeeding and achieving together. This year the children will consolidate and embed a lot of their previous learning while applying a range of new knowledge and skills across the curriculum. For example: planning, investigating and conducting experiments in Science, learning numbers up to 10,000 in Maths, extending their knowledge of different genres in English, learning about the rise of the Roman Empire, the family of Jesus and the Rhine and Mediterranean in Opening Worlds. We are confident that our curriculum will not only inspire children but also teach them life-long transferrable skills!
